About Us
Megan grew up in a small town in Southern Colorado called Ignacio. Not only was the town she lived in small, the next closest town also boasted a modest population. This caused Megan to need to be creative in the things she wanted to wear due to the limited options available to her. Ignacio was a “one store” kind of town. She remembers going to co-op and being able to buy salted peanuts a diet Pepsi and a pair of raw denim Levi’s for $26.36, if that gives you any idea. Rural Colorado is also known for it’s western industries. Megan grew up with the rodeo, and spent time farming and ranching. Megan, despite all odds, grew up loving fashion in a very “unfashionable” place.
“When I think of brides that shop LiveWire Bridal, I think of a woman who stands out. She wants to make a difference. She wants to be her own kind of person. She breaks the mold. That truly embodies being a LiveWire.”
LiveWire was borne out of necessity. Megan started making clothes at a young age because she wanted to show her individuality on the outside as well as the inside and couldn’t stand to look like everybody else. Over the years, Megan developed quite a skill set proved useful when she started having kids. Wanting to spend more time with her family, she learned that she could monetize her designs, which let her work from home. This led to starting her own collection. Megan found her calling designing wedding dresses. While it has definitely been a challenge to be a wedding dress designer in the middle of Colorado, she has found something she truly loves doing.
“We don’t really have a Fashion District to speak of. Manufacturers, suppliers, anything like that are a far from us. Skills I’ve acquired, I have learned the hard way by trial and error and meeting people along the way. Every so often you run into people that really cheer for you and are in your corner to help you out.”
Megan sources fabrics from LA, Mexico, and New York. All designing and manufacturing is done in house in Colorado. The name LiveWire came from a childhood friend. Her dad used to tell Megan “You’re just a little LiveWire.” She never knew what that meant until she got older, but when she did, she took pride in it.
